"Eyes are the windows to the soul."

This is what I believe about human beings as well as animals. Eyes show so much about feelings, emotions and personality of any creature.

Therefore, before I start painting, I would study and examine the details of the eyes and recognise the facial expression I want to achieve. 

Then I will start to locate the eyes, imaginary 'eye-brows', mouth etc, using charcoal or light wash.

More details of the facial expression are added using layers of light wash.

This painting can serve as a great gift to any pet parent, yourself included, as a way to preserve the precious moment held dear.
